Edmonton looked very impressive in Game 1, holding control of the play for the majority of the match, but the Panthers were opportunistic to score their goals, solving Stuart Skinner twice and sealing the opening game with an empty-netter. The Oilers have taken the step of swapping out Cody Ceci for Vincent Desharnais on the back end, trying to shore up the one defence pairing that let them down in the first match. Ultimately, however, Edmonton can’t win games without scoring a goal, and solving Sergei Bobrovsky is priority number one for a team averaging 3.32 goals per game in the post-season.
