Habsent Minded Episode 3.73: Sweep victory

A lot of Montreal Canadiens supporters were dancing in the streets last night after the Canadiens completed their sweep of the Winnipeg Jets and were crowned the Kings of the North. For the first time in seven years, Montreal is in the Conference Final and what’s fascinating is that absolutely everyone is chipping in.

Habsent Minded gathers a strong crew of four to discuss the overall impressions of Monday night’s game as well as the overall playoff run to this point.

Why is everything suddenly clicking for this team? What has happened to Dominique Ducharme’s confidence in the last few weeks? Are we finally witnessing the Canadiens we were expecting to see during the regular season?

Cole Caufield is proving his worth, even though he hasn’t scored a single goal so far in the playoffs. Is it surprising to see the well-rounded set of skills he already brings to the table as a rookie?

Finally, Marc Bergevin has deservedly taken a lot of heat in the past but it seems like his moves this year are finally turning out as one would have hoped. In light of the recent success, are both Bergevin and Ducharme safe to return for the upcoming season, no matter the outcome from here on out?
