2024 NHL Draft: Montreal Canadiens select Ben Merrill 166th overall

With their first pick of the sixth round, the Montreal Canadiens went back to the forward pool and selected towering centre Ben Merrill from St. Sebastian’s School.

At 6’4″ and 194 pounds, Merrill was a massive presence in the offensive zone during his high school career. He tallied 18 goals and 19 assists in 25 games, and will take his career to Penticton to play for the Vees next year in the BCHL.

After a year in the BCHL, Merrill will then shift over to the NCAA where he is currently committed to play for Harvard University starting in 2025.
