2020 World Junior Hockey Championship schedule: December 27, 2019

Group A Preliminary Game

9:00 AM ET: Kazakhstan vs Slovakia

Kazakhstan is coming off of a close game against Switzerland where Maxim Murasov scored two goals in a 5-3 loss but this is the game that matters for both teams. A loss in regulation would force either team to have to defeat one of Switzerland, Sweden, or Finland. This is a rematch of last year’s round robin game that sent Slovakia to the quarterfinal, and Kazakhstan to the relegation round. Slovakia won 11-2 last year and will be playing their first game of the tournament. The game will be shown on TSN 1/3/4/5 and RDS in Canada, NHL Network in the US.

Group B Preliminary Game

1:00 PM ET: Germany vs United States

The United States will be looking to rebound from a 6-4 loss to Canada on Thursday against the newly promoted Germany team. Shane Pinto had two goals and Spencer Knight made 26 saves. Dustin Wolf may get the start as the United States gets back-to-back games to start off the tournament. Germany is not to be taken lightly. First round picks Dominik Bokk and Moritz Seider are joined by 2020 draft eligible prospect Tim Stützle and are poised for an upset if a team doesn’t come at them with their best stuff. The game will be on TSN 1/3/4 and RDS in Canada, NHL Network in the US.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN Live in Canada, but it requires a subscription.
