After nearly a month off, myself and Patrik Bexell dusted off our microphones and got back together to discuss some Montreal Canadiens things. We start with the recent surprising news of Jean-François Houle leaving the head coaching position with the Laval Rocket, and who we think could be good candidates to replace him ahead of what will be an important development year for the team.

We also chat about the future of Oliver Kapanen, who will attend camp this year armed with his entry-level contract. Is he a candidate to stay in Montreal this season, or should be be sent back to Europe to see if he can continue rising?

Of course, there is also the draft coming up, and with all the talk about who the Habs should or shouldn’t pick at fifth-overall, we decided to look a little deeper. We both talk about our favourite picks outside of the first round, as the Habs have quite a few selections with which they can try to hit some later home runs.

Finally, did this team ever dodge a bullet with the ill-fated Pierre-Luc Dubois trade. It was once thought that they could get a very advantageous deal from the Winnipeg Jets for his services, but in retrospect, we’re talking about something that could have crippled the rebuild.
